Textures of Time – Bina Mirchandani
Inspired by the beauty of tree barks on a trip to Bulgaria, she decided to paint an abstract series called “Whispers from the Woods”. This series shows the beauty of tree barks as they mature and drop off to make place for new life. The colours, shapes, and textures of these tree trunks are so varied and mystical that they not only inspire, yet pose a strong challenge to capture the immense palette of natural beauty that exists in these magical woods. This series is reflective of her interpretation of the many designs and textures that emanate from these barks.

About Bina Mirchandani
Bina Mirchandani is a graduate from the Jamanalal Bajaj Institute of Management in 1977 and has worked in the fashion industry in many strategic roles with large corporates. Later, she worked as a consultant, building fashion brands for major fashion retailers. More importantly, Bina is also a ‘Happiness Mentor’, helping companies spread the knowledge of happiness among their teams.
Growing up, Bina was always interested in art but got the opportunity to pursue her passion only after she retired. Art has always been a passion, and it gives her a tremendous sense of drive and energy while painting, while also bringing a sense of calm and peace. She has always been fascinated by the beauty in creation and the myriad colours and textures that exist in every form. She has successfully participated in many art exhibitions, including ‘Avyanna’, FLO Bangalore’s ‘Kala Bazaar’ and ‘Black and White’.
