Beyond – Ritu Chawla
In her recent series, ‘Doors – Echoes of Time’ Ritu continues on her journey of creating doorways and entryways from around the world. The artworks capture the introspection of Ritu, where she has artistically created doorways and entryways, where each entry is more than just a physical barrier; it represents the threshold of possibilities. It stands as a metaphorical gateway, inviting us to step into the unknown. The clay and mossy walls, distressed doors and windows which are stained by age, that you see in her creations using medium of acrylic and dry pastels, represented through bold strokes, textures, and earthy colours of browns and orange tones are inspired by the Japanese concept of ‘Wabi-Sabi.

About Ritu Chawla
Ritu Chawla Mathur is a Hospitality Consultant by profession, based in Bangalore, and pursues art as her passion. In a career spanning 25 plus years, with almost two decades in the field of hard-core Hotel Operations with Hotel Brands like the Taj & Marriott; today, Ritu is the Managing Partner of Prognosis Global Consulting, a full-service Consulting, Asset Management and Advisory Services Company focused on Hospitality industry. Ritu has had no formal education in art, except her art classes that she thoroughly enjoyed while in school. Her love for art was cultivated by her mother at a very impressionable age; little did she know that post her intense career in hotel operations, that in her entrepreneurial avatar, and on her husband’s encouragement, coupled with a great mentor in the renowned award-winning artist M G Doddamani, she would revisit her latent passion for art, decades later.
